Elaine's Gorgeous Clothing
*Find Elaine's Gorgeous Clothing on Portobello on Friday. Under the canopy at Portobello Green. She also trades at some of Londons most exclusive fairs. Please see The Market Cartel calender.
Elaine has come from long line of fashion - her grandfather being Harry Bernstein started in ’50\s Mayfair with Hershelle, her father John trained as a furrier before learning pattern cutting and then going into his father’s business which he then grew and morphed to Young Mayfair. Elaine grew up as a child watching the fashion shows of her dad’s new collections in the premises off Hanover Square. Her renewed interest in vintage clothes came when she happened upon a greek tycoon’s wife wanting to downsize her house in Hampstead - and wardrobe after wardrobe of 70’s couture dresses which she recognised form childhood stirred Elaine’s passion and she did her first vintage fair in 2006 and never looked back! As well as selling Friday’s at Portobello she also sells at the premier London vintage fairs. Elaine has recently begun designing her own dresses which are for women who simply want to look good. Helping women to look good and feel good about themselves is what inspires Elaine most of all.
